The MODENA story began in the 1960s as one of the first manufacturers of cooking appliances in Northern Italy, a region well-known for its gastronomy, design and technology, being home to important food, automobile, and consumer appliance brands. During the early years, the company focused mainly on manufacturing basic freestanding cookers for various brands under OEM basis. Subsequently in the 1970s, it invested heavily in R&D and product design which led to the introduction of numerous cooker variants. At the same time, with increasing globalization a more export-oriented sales policy took place allowing the company to scale-up rapidly.
With the industrialization shift eastbound, in 1981 the company underwent restructuring among the founders and production was relocated to Asia to take advantage of the region’s vast supply chains and rapidly growing markets. A unified brand, MODENA, was adopted by Tomas Jizhar after the beautiful industrial city where it all started. An extensive range of Cooking, Cleaning, and Cooling appliances were progressively introduced to meet the extensive market demands. Today MODENA operates in numerous countries, supported by an innovative design studio in Milan and R&D centers across Asia to bring up exciting developments.
